* Kaitz redesigns site
The Walter Kaitz Foundation has launched a redesigned Web site, which features the organization’s new logo and other graphical and navigational elements to help visitors locate resources.
Other new elements include a “Supplier Diversity” feature that links the cable industry and the minority- and women-owned business community, a Career Center, and additional information about the Foundation and its history.
* Liberty sheds UPC Norway
Liberty Global Inc. has closed its sale of UPC Norway to Candover Partners Limited for approximately $542 million.
As of September 30, 2005, Liberty Global’s networks passed roughly 23.6 million homes and served 10.7 million video subs, 2.6 million high-speed Internet customers, and 1.9 million telephony customers.
* Akimbo adds sales muscle
Over-the-top video service firm Akimbo Systems has appointed Jim Bennette to vice president of sales. Bennette joins Akimbo from Orb Networks, where he was VP of business development.
In other moves, Jim Funk, the former VP of product marketing at Akimbo, has been named VP of marketing.
Bennette and Funk report to Akimbo CEO Joshua Goldman.
