Camiant and Casero have announced a joint development and marketing partnership, which allows the two companies to offer an integration of Camiant’s policy control platform with Casero’s Personal Media Management and Sharing solution.
The Camiant and Casero integration, currently being trialed by a major US cable operator, ensures subscribers can upload media faster, without interrupting other upstream traffic, while also improving overall network performance for all subscribers, the companies said.
Casero’s Personal Media Platform delivers a single, centralized location for subscribers to store, share, manage and access their personal media – for all devices.
Camiant’s policy server, the Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE), provides real-time control of network resources for value-added applications and subscribers. When a user uploads media, Casero’s Personal Media platform alerts Camiant’s MPE to create a larger, dedicated service flow so that the backup service is fast and independent of other traffic, the company said.
Camiant’s policy server renders Quality of Service (QoS) conditions for every application. And with Casero’s white label solution in the mix, cable operators can deliver a rich, branded user experience providing an infrastructure for additional revenue opportunities.
“Together, Camiant and Casero are able to deliver bigger, faster uploads and improve network performance,” said Denis Martineau, VP of sales and marketing, Casero Inc. “Casero provides MSO’s and other broadband service providers with the ability to offer value added services under their own brand to increase revenues and decrease churn.”
Camiant and Casero will demonstrate their integrated offering at The Cable Show ’08 in New Orleans next week.
