SureWest Communications posted Q3 revenues of $56.9 million, up 2 percent year-over-year. Consolidated net income, meanwhile, rose almost 10 percent, to $2.2 million.
The company said its digital subscriber base rose 5 percent during the quarter, and its “hyper-speed data” products inched up 3 percent. Those helped to offset a 3 percent dip in the company’s wireless subs, which totaled 52,393 at the end of the quarter.
SureWest’s broadband segment (i.e. fiber-to-the-home) ended the quarter with 55,000 subs, up 15 percent from a year earlier. Revenues for the division rose 17 percent, to $15.2 million.
SureWest completed Q3 with 96,181 “fiber marketable homes,” up from 84,546 a year ago.
