WOW! Business announced the availability of its 110 Mbps downstream/15 Mbps upstream broadband tier in Detroit and Evansville, Ind.
The 110/15 business offering, which uses Arris’ cable modems, was previously deployed in Chicago, Cleveland and Columbus. According to a spokeswoman, the monthly price is determined by the service contract length, with prices ranging from $220 to $275.
WOW! Business has also been active doubling the speeds for some of its tiers in the Midwest and other areas that it serves. For example, WOW! Business has increased the speed of its $60 service from 15/2 Mbps to 30/5 Mbps and no longer requires that the service be bundled with voice. Download/upload speed tiers of 8/1 Mbps and 60/5 Mbps are also available.
“Sales of commercial services we offer directly to our SMB, enterprise and wholesale customers, and indirectly through members of our Partner Alliance program, are rising annually at a double-digit rate,” said Brad Cheedle, senior vice president of WOW! Business. “The introduction of higher speed Internet plans throughout our service footprint allows WOW! Business to meet escalating demand for a competitively priced and flexible alternative to other high-speed Internet services, such as DSL, from a company highly regarded for providing prompt and exceptional customer service.”
WOW! Business plans on rolling out the faster Internet speeds in additional Midwest markets in the first quarter of this year, along with cities it serves in other parts of the country. WOW! Business operates in 19 markets in 11 states.
In October, WOW! Business started offering its voice, data and cloud services to businesses in Annapolis and other communities in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Last month WOW! announced it was cutting 9 percent of its more than 3,000 employees.
