Roku might be putting most of its hopes behind the Roku 4 this holiday season, but it just announced a new Roku-powered TV partner: LG.
LG started selling two models of Roku-powered TVs through Best Buy stores this week. The LG with Roku comes in two sizes—55-inch and 65-inch—and both come with a 1080p LED-backlit LCD panel. The 55-inch model sells for $550, while the 65-inch sells for $1000.
This seems like it will be a one-off collaboration between LG and Roku; LG has its own Smart TV OS, WebOS, and these TVs are listed as having limited quantities. But LG is the finest brand to offer a built-in Roku so far; the feature has mostly been relegated to house-brands.
