Adelphia Communications will use simulcast gear made by San Mateo, Calif.-based RGB Networks for part of its digital simulcast efforts, RGB said Tuesday.
Specifically, Adelphia will use RGB’s “Simulcast Edge Processor” to handle integrated decoding, modulation and upconverting of the simulcast lineup. Adelphia said it expects about six markets will be “engineering ready” for simulcast by the end of Q1 2006.
RGB CEO Adam Tom said in a statement that Adelphia is the first MSO to complete testing and integration of the system.
