Arcwave Inc., a provider of wireless DOCSIS extension gear, has appointed cable sales vet Michael Allen to the post of vice president of worldwide sales and support.
Allen has sales experience at firms such as ADC Telecommunications, GI/Motorola and NEC America. He also served as vice president of global sales and service for Pacific Broadband Communications, a cable modem termination system startup that was sold to Juniper Networks in 2001.
Arcwave’s ARCXtend platform beams data over unlicensed bands (5.8 GHz downstream/5.3 GHz upstream). Cable operators are tapping the technology to serve small- and medium-sized businesses out of reach of their traditional hybrid fiber/coax networks.
