Aurora to demo suite of products at Cable-Tec Expo

Aurora Networks said that it will demonstrate a suite of products designed to help cable operators stay ahead of the competition at the Cable-Tec Expo, to be held June 25-27 in Philadelphia.

Demonstrations will include LcWDM, DWDM and D2WDM node segmentation solutions, which enable operators to quadruple plant bandwidth, without the need for fiber construction, while supporting targeted deployments.

Other demonstrations to expect are the VHub virtual hub technology, which eliminates the need for a hub site, lowers deployment costs and supports 24 service groups with as few as three fibers; and Fiber Deep technology, which increases narrowcast bandwidth, reduces operating costs by 65 percent, lowers power costs by 50 percent and provides 99.995 percent network availability, Aurora Networks said.

Next-generation access solutions will also be on display, such as the BitCoax, a new concept to exploit coax above 1 GHz; Fiber on Demand, to serve high-bandwidth users; FTTP VHub, to efficiently service new build areas with fiber-based offerings; and Node PON, to enable GEPON from the node.

And also set to be showcases are Aurora Network’s commercial services solutions, which support the delivery of 100 Mbps, 1,000 Mbps and T1/E1 applications to generate revenue from small- to medium-size enterprises.

“Aurora Networks offers a rich array of products, designed specifically for cable operators, to help them win the battle for subscribers,” said John Dahlquist, Aurora’s VP of marketing. “Our optical networking solutions enable cable operators to deliver an array of revenue-generating services for bandwidth-hungry commercial and residential customers.”
