Bell Aliant has introduced a new 170 Mbps tier to its fiber-to-the-home service, FibreOP.
Available in parts of New Brunswick, the new tier comes with upload speeds that max out at 30 Mbps.
The company did not provide pricing information. Its FibreOP 25/5 service is $77.95 per month, and its 70/15 tier is $107.95 per month.
FibreOP services and bundles are currently available to customers in areas of greater Fredericton, greater Saint John and greater Moncton, the company said.
Earlier this year, Bell Aliant announced an additional $350 million investment to be made in 2011 and 2012, which will bring the total investment in FibreOP to almost a half-billion dollars, expanding the technology to more than 600,000 homes and businesses.
