Rovi Corporation announced Rovi’s first customer for Passport Guide HD, Summit Broadband, and introduced i-Guide HD. Summit Broadband, a provider of phone, Internet, and cable TV services for residential and commercial customers, has selected Rovi’s innovative Passport Guide HD to deliver advanced entertainment discovery, powered by Rovi’s entertainment metadata. The addition of Passport Guide HD now provides Summit Broadband with expanded TV listings and search and advanced video-on-demand (VOD) capabilities.

These new combiners are commonly deployed in systems using components such as power amplifiers, antenna feeds, attenuators and switches, often for combining individual power amplifiers together into a large power block in an amplifier system. RF power combiners are devices that combine RF input signals into a common output, while maintaining the characteristic impedance of the inputs, in this case, 50 Ohms
ADTRAN has announced their partnership with Comptel Corporation that will help accelerate time-to-market for broadband providers around the world. This association between ADTRAN and Comptel will help create a multi-vendor FTTx solution. This will allow carriers and service providers to have streamlined network access infrastructure. Furthermore, it will allow an expansion of services, and the ability to rapidly deploy Gigabit, Ethernet, G.Fast, GPON, and other highly valuable services to customers.
SeaChange International, Inc. is using SCTE Cable-Tec Expo ’15 to show television service providers new means to create services that can captivate Millennials, the largest living generation. The latest entry into SeaChange’s expansive multiscreen repertoire is Android TV streaming of live channels and on-demand content, the debut centerpiece of innovation for video consumption on any device derived from its open platforms on show in New Orleans. This week SeaChange will feature the Adrenalin on-premises platform and the Rave platform for service expansion into SaaS-based over-the-top services. The constellation of demonstrated consumer devices will incorporate Android TV, Google Nexus tablets, and Apple iPads and iPad Minis.
Sonus Networks announced the general availability of VellOS Release 8.0, an update to Sonus’ virtualized Cloud exchange networking platform, delivering enhancements for manageability, flexibility and ease of service consumption for network resources. VellOS delivers support for two applications an analytics tool for network and application performance using metrics from VellOS to provide enterprises with insight into network, computation and application interactions.
Suddenlink’s up to 1 Gigabit Internet service rollouts continued with today’s launch in Abilene, Texas. As has been the case in prior launches, Suddenlink also has increased certain other residential Internet speeds at no additional cost to customers. With each 1 Gigabit launch, residential high-speed Internet customers with current download speeds up to 75 and 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) have been moved to services with download speeds up to 100 and 200 Mbps, respectively, at no added charge.
