* Harmonic opens commercial services gateway
Harmonic Inc. has launched the FLXLink iCPE, a commercial services gateway for hotels, schools, small- and mid-sized businesses, and multiple-dwelling units.

The platform is compatible with existing Cat5 wiring, can house up to 24 Ethernet ports, and hooks into the company’s FLXLink family of coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) transport gear, which cable operators and telcos are already using to supply high-speed Internet and cellular backhaul services. The gateway, Harmonic noted, will enable operators to provision those services.

* Trilithic stakes out Europe
Trilithic Inc., a maker of RF and microwave passive components and filters, has opened a new sales office in Europe to support the company’s new business initiatives there.

The office, located in London, is managed by David O’Connell, with sales support provided by Amanda O’Connell.
