* Verizon feeds FiOS with Yahoo!
Verizon is complementing its fiber-fed FiOS high-speed data service with content from Yahoo! Inc. The telco is offering the resulting service, Verizon Yahoo! for FiOS, in 15 states where it has already installed its fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) platform: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia. Verizon expects to launch the Yahoo!-powered service in Washington later this year.
Verizon will offer Yahoo! content as the “default choice” for its FiOS Internet subs. The offer includes access to news and entertainment video, commercial-free Internet radio, music videos from Yahoo! Music, 11 e-mail accounts, unlimited photo storage, and anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
