* Clipblast! offers Web-based tool to index/search video
ClipBlast! has introduced a free, downloadable search box designed to enable Web site owners to quickly implement video site search. The patent-pending technology gives users the ability to search for video clips from within a single site or video blog, or across the entire Web. For site owners, ClipBlast! offers back-end video search technology that organizes video libraries, which enables content to be monetized.
* Eagle Broadband’s superheadend is now operational
Eagle Broadband said its superheadend facility at NewCom International’s Florida teleport is now operational. The company is currently streaming more than 100 channels of IP-based television content; over the next few weeks, additional channels will be added until almost 250 channels of popular cable-style content will be part of Eagle’s IPTV stream.
* Mobitel selects Dilithium’s gateways for 3G video telephony services
Mobitel Slovenia, the national mobile telecommunications operator in Slovenia, will use multimedia gateways from Dilithium Networks for the delivery of multimedia and enhanced video services across mobile and broadband networks. Dilithium Networks has partnered with SRC.SI and Cisco to deliver a Video Call Center solution to Mobitel.
* Fujitsu Network Communications names new prez/CEO
Fujitsu Network Communications has appointed Satoshi Ikeuchi president and chief executive officer, overseeing all product planning, product development, sales, marketing, manufacturing and customer support at the company’s headquarters in Richardson, Texas. He succeeds Takanobu Yoden, who has retired from Fujitsu. Ikeuchi joined Fujitsu in 1975 as an engineer in coaxial and optical transmission product development. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of the company’s Photonics Systems Group.
