* Financial aid for Cable Center’s distance learning
The Cable Center has secured new funding for its Distance Learning Program, which will maintain the program and also provide the opportunity for more schools to participate in it.
The donation was from Amos B. Hostetter, and carries through the 2007-2008 academic year. The Distance Learning Program is produced in partnership with C-SPAN and the University of Denver.
It is delivered via a fiber line from C-SPAN’s studios in Washington, D.C. to The Cable Center’s Distance Learning Studio in Denver. The program currently serves students from the University of Denver, George Mason University in Virginia, and Pace University in New York.
* Mintek hires director of marketing
Mintek Mobile Data Solutions has named Ty Abrahams as director of marketing. Mintek provides the lodging industry with automated solutions for preventive maintenance and asset management. Abrahams will help Mintek’s management and sales team identify new markets, assist with select accounts and manage the company’s overall marketing efforts. Abrahams joins Mintek from Conexco Communications.

Verizon has launched here! as a 24/7 premium channel and as a video-on-demand service in areas where it has launched the FiOS TV service, including parts of California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Virginia and Texas.
here!, a premium gay network that was established in 2002, will offer FiOS TV subs access to series such as “Dante’s Cove” and “Shock to the System: A Donald Strachey Mystery.”
