* Shaw puts Anime on-demand
The Anime Network got some more northern exposure this week, announcing it has secured a video-on-demand distribution deal with Shaw Cablesytems.
Under the deal, Shaw will offer up to 20 hours of Anime fare for $4.99 per month, including titles such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Samurai X.
* Artel bows new diplexer
Artel Video Systems has introduced the DigiLink 1242 Dual Channel Diplexer, a modulator/demodulator designed to simplify audio connections to an analog video switch.
The two-channel audio diplexer, which enables users of analog video switches to toggle between audio and video simultaneously, is housed in a 1-RU chassis. Each channel modulates four baseband audio inputs, the company said.
* Buzztime doubles up usage stats
Buzztime Entertainment said average usage of its cable-based Buzztime Channel has doubled in four systems that recently added six new single-player games: Poker, Checkers, Hexagone, Jungle-Bob, Memory and Solitaire.
The company launched the Buzztime Trivia Channel in 2002.
