* EGT raises $8.5 M
EGT Inc., a maker of encoders and other digital video gear and software, has raised $8.5 million in a series C round led by Noro-Moseley Partners, H.I.G. Capital, Sevin Rosen Funds and other investors who were not named.
To date, the Atlanta-based company has raised more than $20 million.
EGT said it will use the funds to spur operational and international growth and new products tied specifically to IP-delivered video services.
* Sigma thinks globally
OSS specialist Sigma Systems has promoted Mark Pearson to VP-customer operations EMEA; and has appointed Fadi Samara to VP-customer operations.
The appointments will “spearhead” the company’s global initiatives, said Sigma President & COO Tim Spencer.
Pearson joined Sigma in 1999, and most recently served as VP of professional services. Samara is late of Shaw Communications, where he served in the MSO’s corporate project management group.
