* Ikanos bows VDSL2 software
Ikanos Communications Inc., developer and provider of Fiber Fast broadband solutions, announced the availability of its LoopNostics software.
The line diagnostics, analysis and measurement software is designed to aid service providers in deploying broadband services on multi-node VDSL2 platforms, the company said.
LoopNostics is available for Ikanos’ multi-mode VDSL2 chipsets, and it supports all standard-based VDSL2 profiles from 8.5 to 30 MHz, as well as ADSLx standards, the company said.
* Optibase pairs with Greek IPTV operator
Optibase has been selected by Greek IPTV provider ON Telecoms to deliver local and satellite TV channels.
ON Telecoms selected Optibase’s IPTV headend equipment, which provides a carrier-grade streaming platform, MGW 5100, that is controlled and monitored by Optibase Cluster Manager.
Optibase provides encoding, decoding, video server upload and streaming solutions for telecom operators, service providers, broadcasters and content creators.
* ImOn buys McLeodUSA’s operation in Iowa
ImOn Communications (formerly JG and SG Communications) completed its acquisition of the network and business assets of the ATS division of McLeodUSA.
ATS provides communications services in Cedar Rapids and Marion, Iowa. ImOn (pronounced as if saying “I’m on”) will serve both residential and business customers with more than 170 channels of cable television, local and long distance telephone service, and high-speed Internet access.
