* Tektronix adds video quality tools
Tektronix has expanded its compressed video test and measurement products line. Cerify 3.0 and Cerify Lite are used to help maintain image quality as video is moved through new transport systems, repurposed, and processed in non-linear editors. SyncCert identifies and measures problem areas of A/V sync in file-based video at different points in a broadcast chain. MTS4CC provides compression analysis of files for broadcasters and developers of file-based video products.
* Pace to supply boxes for Turkish satellite PVR service
Pace Micro Technology was selected by Turkish satellite operator Digiturk to provide set-tops for the latter’s high definition (HD) personal video recorder (PVR) TV service. The service is expected to launch across Turkey in summer 2007. The agreement also includes an order for Pace’s digital satellite set-top box. Both STBs come with Irdeto conditional access. Pace will also integrate OpenTV’s middleware.
* Videotron deploys Highdeal’s quad-play pricing product
Videotron revealed it has used the Transactive pricing/rating/charging system from Highdeal to help launch its new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service in August (see story). Transactive integrates with installed billing & OSS systems, and allows operators to price and package quad-play services.
* Aurora taps sales veep for northeast
Aurora Networks has named Andrew Ferraro vice president of sales for its northeast region. A 33-year industry veteran, Ferraro most recently served stints at ARRIS Group and startup Confluent Photonics.
