BTI Photonic Systems announced today the availability of its next-generation Netstender 2060 platform, which enables cost-effective broadband capacity expansion for new service growth including 3G, IPTV, FTTX and WiMax.
With the increasing adoption of IPTV, WiMax and 3G, traffic capacity at the edge is migrating to Ethernet, and WDM is emerging as an economical option for carriers to build out and scale their infrastructure at the metro edge.
The Netstender 2060 now supports an expandable architecture allowing carriers to grow from 6 to 24 service slots seamlessly and cost-effectively as broadband service penetration rates increase. Legacy 2060s can be made fully compatible with the new version of the 2060 through an in-service system processor upgrade.
