The Cable Center’s Professional Education group announced today that it is now offering some of its most popular courses via an inexpensive, easy-to-access online e-learning storefront.
The new Learning on Demand program will initially launch with two courses: CableStart and TechStart.
Once a Learning on Demand course is purchased, it is available for 30 days, allowing the participant the flexibility to start and stop and complete the course at their own pace.
CableStart is an introductory course that is ideal for any employee new to the cable industry, or for those who are in need of a refresher. The course covers a complete overview of the industry, including statistics, industry development, products, key players, components, business models, key regulation and competition.
TechStart covers the basic technologies behind advanced cable products and introduces the hybrid fiber/coax system and its various components. The course is designed for non-technical participants who want to understand the technical components and functions of a modern cable network.
“Our Learning on Demand program opens up an exciting new opportunity for busy professionals to gain valuable cable industry knowledge in a more flexible online format,” said Bill Dorman, The Cable Center’s director of professional education. “Previously, these courses have only been available in a traditional classroom instructor-led setting, and we are pleased we are now able to bring them to a much larger online audience.”
Learning on Demand courses are accessible through The Cable Center’s Web site at a cost of $299 per class. All course curricula include engaging interactive exercises and quizzes.
