Cambium Networks says it just set a new world record.
The wireless broadband company is claiming that its link test reaching from Pikes Peak, Colo., through the Denver metro area, and all the way to Cheyenne, Wyo., covering a 153-mile stretch, is the farthest successful network link to date.
Cambium says it successfully demonstrated both high-definition streaming video using AXIS cameras and VoIP services.
Cambium set up two parallel links with its PTP 650 and PTP 700 wireless point-to-point products. The company says it was able to set up and deploy the network link in under one hour, using LinkPlanner for its PTP and PMP network design.
“At Cambium we have a culture of challenging ourselves. We decided to set up the longest point to point link ever established in the world, set it up quickly, and added a noisy metro center right in its path,” Cambium Networks CEO Atul Bhatnagar said in a statement.
