CED is seeking nominations for its second-annual Pacesetter Awards. Each year, the awards annually recognize a select group of individuals at cable and other broadband service providers who have taken leading positions or innovative “first steps” with a particular advanced service, application or technology.
The 2005 Pacesetters — sponsored by Arroyo Video Solutions, Pace Micro Technology, and Xtend Networks — will be awarded in the following five categories:
High-speed data
Telephony
Digital television
Video-on-demand
Commercial services.
Nomination forms are available online. The nomination deadline is April 22, 2005. CED will announce the winners during the 2005 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, set to run June 14–17 in San Antonio, Texas.
2005 marks the second year for the Pacesetters. The inaugural class of Pacesetters included Mark Hess of Comcast (video-on-demand); Terry Nidiffer of GCI (high-speed data); Bill Stemper of Cox Business Services (commercial services); Pragash Pillai and Lennie Smith of Charter Communications (digital video); and Gerry Campbell of Time Warner Cable (telephony).
