Digeo announced at The Cable Show that Charter Communications will deploy its new Moxi high-definition digital video recorder (HD DVR).
The announcement marks the first order and deployment of Digeo’s second-generation offering, called the Moxi HD DVR 3012, which incorporates a dual HD-tuner DVR. The Moxi 3012 uses the Moxi Menu user interface and has CableCard multi-stream two-way support and remote Web scheduling abilities.
The DVR has external storage options of up to 1 Terabyte, and it mines data through the Moxi portal to gain real-time customer usage insights.
“Charter is committed to providing its customers a superior video service,” said Ted Schremp, SVP of product management and strategy for Charter. “The Moxi platform is very popular with our video customers for its ease of use and functionality. The Moxi 3012 HD DVR has even more of the features and interactivity our customers value, and we are excited to bring the next generation of Moxi to our customers’ homes.”
The Moxi Cable HD DVR 3012 is targeted for deployment to Charter customers in the third quarter.
