The collection of products that can be used with Clearwire’s WiMAX service continues to expand with three new devices that offer subscribers more options for where and how they can connect.
The Clear Spot 4G is a personal Wi-Fi hotspot. Subscribers can plug the Clear Spot into a device that is connected to the Clear network to turn that device into a Wi-Fi hotspot, enabling up to eight other people with Wi-Fi-enabled devices, including laptops, smartphones and portable gaming devices, to connect through.
The Clear Spot 4G+ is similar but adds the option of allowing users to also connect to Sprint’s 3G network when outside of Clear’s coverage area. It can support up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
The Clear 4G+ Mobile USB modem is the first dual-mode mobile USB from Clear to deliver 4G and nationwide 3G Internet coverage to the MacBook and MacBook Pro, along with other non-Mac devices.
The introductions come on the heels of parent Sprint’s recent introduction of the first 3G/WiMAX handset.
Comcast and Time Warner Cable are currently reselling Clear under their own brand labels.

The Clear Spot 4G is manufactured by InfoMark and will be available for purchase at $99.99, or for a $4.99 monthly lease. The Clear Spot 4G+ is manufactured by Sierra Wireless and will be available to purchase for $224.99, or to lease for $5.99 per month.
The new 4G+ Mobile USB is manufactured by Sierra Wireless and is listed at $114.99; it can be leased monthly for $5.99.
