Comcast Wholesale service HITS today announced it is deploying Rovi’s DTA Guide for its customers.
Rovi’s interactive program guide for digital terminal adapters (DTA) will accommodate both the SD and HD signals for HITS’s MPEG-4 cable distribution platform.
“DTAs allow operators to save bandwidth by eliminating the majority of their analog feeds. The Rovi guide will further enhance the viewer experience and offer new content discovery opportunities to customers using DTAs,” Comcast Wholesale vice president Leslie Russell said in a statement.
DTAs allow for the delivery of interactive program guides as well as parental controls and language options to customers still using analog TV sets.
Comcast Wholesale, started in 1996, offers digital TV content management solutions like linear television and video on demand (VOD) to smaller cable operations and multiple video service providers (MVPD).
