Comcast is now offering Business VoiceEdge, its cloud-based voice and unified communications service, in the Houston region.
The service was announced at the end of March, at which point it was already available in much of the MSO’s 14-state Northeastern Division and in Chicago. The company has been extending the Business VoiceEdge to other markets since then.
With the addition of Houston, service is now available across 19 states in Comcast’s network, with availability in additional Comcast markets to be completed by the end of 2012.
Business VoiceEdge provides unlimited nationwide calling, a suite of unified communications (UC) features and HD voice quality, and it eliminates the need for onsite PBX equipment or key systems.
“Our cloud-based voice service has already increased efficiency and reduced costs for customers in markets throughout the country,” said Ted Girdner, vice president at Comcast Business Services for the Houston region. “Combined with our other data and video offerings in the Houston region, Business VoiceEdge provides another way for customers to simplify their IT and business operations, reduce equipment costs, and gain peace of mind that their voice service is backed by a reliable network.”
Other features include:
- Be Anywhere: Lets workers integrate their work line with their mobile device, home office or other locations to have calls follow them or push/pull them between devices without having to disconnect and then reconnect the call.
- Voicemail-to-Email: Voice messages conveniently reach “anytime, anywhere” workers when away from the office or working remotely by sending a copy of the voicemail to their email.
- Business Voice Continuity: Redirect calls to backup numbers if there is a power outage, or other on-site issues, to maintain business operations.
