Virgin Media has consolidated 20 different equipment inventories onto a single inventory control system provided by Convergys, the vendor said.
Virgin Media had been managing its customer premises equipment (CPE) for more than 13 million landline, mobile, broadband and cable product subscriptions in more than 20 different configurations.
By consolidating on Convergys’ ICOMS, Virgin Media has been able to automate its inventory creation process, driving significant efficiencies and improved service to its customers. Specifically, Virgin Media has been able to reduce its inventory stock and associated storage space and to recognize significant annualized savings from stock loss reductions, Convergys said.
“Convergys has played an important role in the transformation of our logistics operations, integrating 20 different systems and platforms into a single end-to-end solution that is already yielding significant improvements for us and, most importantly, our customers across the United Kingdom,” said Virgin Media executive director Maurice Daw. “Given our track record of working with them, we knew we could count on Convergys to work well as part of a close-knit virtual team on this project. Convergys has successfully delivered on a very complex and vital project.”
Virgin Media provides broadband, TV, mobile phone and home phone services in the U.K.
