Cancer Care Associates in Oklahoma is using Ethernet services from Cox Business to connect its 14 clinics, four cancer centers and three satellite offices.
Cox Business was able to lure Cancer Care Associates away from a competitor’s data network to its Cox Business Ethernet service. The Ethernet service is being used to securely send radiology images between sites. As part of the deal, Cancer Care also picked Cox Business for all of its voice services, as well.
Cox Business has a large presence in the health care industry in Oklahoma. In addition to hundreds of health care organizations, Integris Health, which is one of the state’s largest medical centers, uses Cox Business’ voice and data networks.
Integris has been using Cox Business for several years to support its telemedicine offerings, such as remote video consultations, real-time information exchange, imaging and VoIP applications, between its rural hospitals and major medical centers.
With Cox Business Ethernet Service, Cox Business said both Cancer Care and Integris enjoy the benefits of a fiber redundant architecture that provides additional failover capability in the event of a disaster.
“Cox Business’ dense network infrastructure and local resources are the perfect prescription for regionally focused organizations with complex communications needs, such as health care providers,” said Randy Chandler, vice president of Cox Business Oklahoma.
Last week, Cox Communications announced that Cox Business surpassed $1 billion in annual revenue.
Health care has been a strong vertical for cable operators’ business service divisions. Cablevision’s Optimum Lightpath has landed several large health-care related contracts in the New York metropolitan area.
