Envivio to show cloud-based multi-screen offerings at Independent Show

July 22, 2014 By Mike Robuck

Envivio will be showcasing its cloud-based multi-screen platform at the NCTC’s Independent Show July 27-30 in Kansas City, Mo.

Envivio said its turnkey, virtualized end-to-end, any–screen video software service can cut down the time frame to launch multi-screen services with minimal CAPEX investments by cable operators. Features include virtualized encoding, packaging, digital rights management (DRM), ad mediation, content delivery network (CDN), app creation and billing.

“Time is of the essence for the independent video provider. With Envivio’s cloud-based SaaS platform, customers can go from zero to service launch in less than a month,” said Arnaud Perrier, vice president of strategy and corporate development, Envivio. “And, our fully integrated video delivery service employs a pay-as-you-grow OPEX model that allows them to scale the service based on usage, while maintaining the highest-level of video quality and reliability.”

Live linear and on-demand content can be simultaneously delivered to most high-engagement platforms such as Apple TV, XBox, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, iOS/Android tablets, and Samsung Smart TVs.

Envivio’s virtualized software has been commercially deployed on a large scale at a leading U.S. cable operator, and at a tier 1 operator in Europe for live OTT channels delivered to the big screen. Envivio is one of the vendors that is providing transcoders to Comcast to provision linear video on its Viper platform.

Envivio will be located in booth 106 at the Independent Show.

A frequency you can count on There are few constants in life, but what few there are might include death, taxes, and a U.S. grid frequency that doesn’t vary by more than ±0.5 Hz. However, the certainty of the grid frequency is coming into question, thanks to the rising percentage of renewable energy sources that…
