Fujitsu’s New POS Printer is Ultra-Compact and Cost-Efficient

April 26, 2011 By ECN Staff

Fujitsu Component America Inc. has released its smallest and most cost-effective, Point-of-Sale receipt printer to date. It is approximately 15 percent smaller than competing printers with similar features.

The new FP-1000 printer with its compact 144(W) x184(D) x 120(H)mm footprint is designed for industrial receipt applications such as commercial kitchens, medical/pharmaceutical printing and weigh stations. It prints small text, specialized fonts, graphics, and 1D and 2D barcodes with 203 dpi resolution at180 mm/sec speeds to expedite throughput and reduce wait time.

The 3-inch thermal printer mechanism has a life of 60 million lines. It features an integrated paper feed and built-in paper guide that supports selectable paper widths (58mm and 80mm) and paper rolls up to 83mm in diameter.

The printer includes an integrated cutter that makes partial cuts. Other features include a buzzer, a cash drawer kickout and drop-in paper loading. It supports Linux SuSE 9.3, Windows, WEPO, ESC/POS emulation, as well as RS232C Serial, USB2 and Ethernet interfaces.

The FP-1000 also offers mounting flexibility. Receipts can feed out from either the top or the front of the printer to allow tabletop or wall mounting. An optional, built-in power supply enables additional placement options in areas with limited space. It is also available with a splash-proof cover.

The FP-1000 printer is RoHS compliant and qualifies as a Fujitsu Super Green Product.

Available immediately, the FP-1000 series is priced at $179 at 1,000-pieces. Delivery is stock to 14 weeks ARO.
