NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) offers the NV7050SA High
Frequency series, an SMD VCXO (voltage controlled crystal oscillator), which
through proprietary high frequency fundamental mode crystals is able to obtain
frequencies upwards of 700 MHz (available in a range of 170 to 700 MHz) without
the use of PLL frequency multiplication methods. The end result is the
reduction of phase jitter as low as 38.0 fs (femtoseconds) (100 fs max.), a
reduction of more than 80% when compared to previously available products in
this class. The NV7050SA was developed in response to the demands of high-speed
wireless broadband networks and base stations for mobile communication. These
products require high frequency clock signals between 600 to 700 MHz for the
optical transmission and optical multiple-wavelength transmission used. The
compact 7.0 L x 5.0 W x 1.6 mm H package consumes just 10% of the volume of
comparable VCXOs on the market.
The NV7050SA is available in a frequency range of 170 to 700
MHz with a nominal frequency tolerance of ±50 ppm. The APR (absolute pull
range) is ±100 ppm. It operates on 3.3 VDC over a temperature range of -40 to
+85ºC. Output is available as LVPECL or LVDS. They are in lead-free packaging that
meets the requirements for re-flow profiling using lead-free solder and are
RoHS compliant.
