Yahoo identified the two directors appointed by dissident investor and new board member Carl Icahn; they are Frank J. Biondi Jr. and John H. Chapple.
Biondi is best known as the former CEO of Universal Studios (1996-98) and as president and CEO of Viacom (1987-96). Since 1999, he has been senior managing director of WaterView Advisors, a private equity limited partnership focused on media and entertainment.
Biondi is also a director of Amgen, Cablevision Systems, Hasbro, The Bank of New York Mellon and Seagate Technology.
Chapple has served as president of Hawkeye Investments, a privately owned equity firm investing primarily in telecommunications and real estate ventures, since October 2006. Prior to forming Hawkeye, Chapple served as president, CEO and chairman of the board of Nextel Partners, from January 1998 to June 2006, when the company was purchased by Sprint.
