Integra5 Communications has landed yet another customer for its messaging and communications technology products, announcing that Foothills Telephone Cooperative of Staffordsville, Ky., will deploy its TV Caller ID and TV Voicemail Message Waiting applications.
Foothills, which provides phone, high-speed data and cable TV services to more than 15,000 customers in Lawrence and Magoffin counties, will deploy Integra5’s TV messaging applications via its fiber-to-the-home network. Plans are to introduce the Integra5-driven services starting in January.
Tapping UniTV, a network-based system, TV Caller ID can automatically display on a TV screen the name and phone number of a caller before the phone even rings. Similarly, TV Voicemail Message Waiting can display voicemail messages on the screen, and it also allows users to choose display options and tab through caller history information using their TV remotes.
“Building upon our FTTH rollout, UniTV gives us unique, differentiated triple-play services and allows us to compete based on value-added services rather than price,” said Tom Preston, Foothills’ general manager. “This is really just the beginning of the potential to roll out additional enhanced services enabled by UniTV like Picture Caller ID and SMS Text Messaging.”
