JDSU has launched its PathTrak Video Monitoring (PVM) system and PathTrak Return Path Monitoring 3000 (RPM3000) system module for the delivery of video, VoIP and high-speed data services over advanced digital networks.
The PVM System helps operators segment forward path video problems in minutes by monitoring for RF and MPEG impairments. The PVM software provides network engineers and technicians with Web-based access to both live and historical RF and MPEG performance measurements throughout the network, the company said, speeding troubleshooting time.
The PathTrak RPM3000 expands visibility into upstream digital network performance and provides DOCSIS 3.0 measurement and certification capabilities, including analysis of live spectrum, modulation error rate (MER) and quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), according to the company.
“JDSU’s new PVM capabilities provide increased visibility into digital networks and the performance of advanced broadband services, providing our cable customers with the tools they need to ensure quality and reduce churn in an intensely competitive environment,” said Kevin Oliver, director of product marketing in JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement business segment.
The PVM system also includes the RSAM-5700 QAM RF Probe, the ISS-5116 16 port switch, the MVP-100 MPEG Video Probe, the MVP-200 MPEG Analyzer and the PathTrak Video Monitoring Software.
JDSU’s test and measurement solutions for cable network operators are on display this week at the Cable-Tec Expo in Philadelphia.
