OpVista Inc. has raised $10 million in funding in a series-C round led by Excelsior Venture Partners III LLC. Previous OpVista investors Incubic, Sevin Rosen Funds, WK Technologies and United Venture Capital Partners joined the round as well.
The Irvine, Calif.-based company said it will use the funds to boost marketing and sales support for its flagship MetroVista optical transport system, which recently entered volume production. OpVista claims the product scales from one to 800 Gbps on a single fiber for up to 100 kilometers without dispersion compensation, signal regeneration or fiber plant re-engineering.
Time Warner Cable recently agreed to deploy OpVista’s gear in upstate New York.
