Under the terms of a new deal, CoSentry, a provider of cloud computer and managed services, will connect its data centers with Qwest’s fiber network.
Qwest Metro Optical Ethernet (QMOE) will support CoSentry clients’ data center, managed hosting and cloud computing needs. By using Qwest’s fiber, CoSentry’s data clients can connect to the Internet directly and avoid paying local loop fees.
Qwest will interconnect CoSentry’s four data centers located in Kansas City, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; Papillon, Neb. and Sioux Falls, S.D. with its QMOE. Qwest said its QMOE platform was a completely meshed Ethernet network that provided bandwidth speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) and connects back to Qwest’s nationwide IP backbone.
