Steren Electronics displayed its new line of High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) 1.3 high-speed (Category 2) cables at Cable-Tec Expo.
Tailored for HD video and audio signal connectivity, the UL-recognized cables are suited for HDMI-equipped HDTV sets, HD set-top boxes, LCD and plasma screens, computer monitors, and Blu-ray Disc players/recorders. The cables provide 340 MHz maximum signal bandwidth and 10.2 Gbps maximum TDS bandwidth. They support 1080p video resolution, as well as 10-, 12- and 16-bit color depths for displaying deep color content.
In addition, the cables accurately transfer multichannel digital audio, supporting Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio digital audio formats.
The fully molded cables are available in different configurations, including Type-A-to-Type-A flat and round, Type-C-to-Type-C round, and Type-C-to-Type-A round. The new series joins Steren’s series of standard (Category 1) HDMI 1.3 cables. HDMI 1.3-compatible cables are also backward-compatible with earlier HDMI formats.
Steren has also launched a new series of feed-through wall plates for HDMI applications, which it says provide fast, easy cable routing.
The wall plates are designed to help remove the clutter of HDMI and other cables. The series of wall plates includes: HDMI to HDMI single, HDMI to HDMI dual, HDMI + 1-RCA (R) mono audio, HDMI + F-81, HDMI + 2-RCA (R, W) stereo audio, HDMI + 3-RCA (Y, R, W) composite video/audio, and HDMI + 3-RCA (RGB) component video.
The flush-mount plates, which are HDMI 1.3 and HDCP compliant, support high-speed (Category 2) and standard (Category 1) HDMI cables for HD set-top boxes, HDTV sets and Blu-ray players/recorders. The smooth finish plates are constructed of high-impact ABS plastic and provide HDMI feed-through, F and RCA couplers with gold-plated contacts.
