Suddenlink has dropped video-on-demand services and TV Caller ID features into some Arizona communities that were formerly served by NPG Cable.
Suddenlink bought the Arizona systems, as well as systems in St. Joseph, Mo., and Mammoth Lakes, Calif., from NPG Cable for $350 million earlier this year.
Since then, Suddenlink has added about 75 new TV channels and has upgraded data speeds in several of the former NPG Cable systems. Suddenlink plans on adding new and faster services, including a DOCSIS 3.0-based 50 Mbps tier, in many more systems by year’s end.
On Wednesday, Suddenlink launched its video-on-demand service in the Arizona communities of Flagstaff, Sedona, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Lake Montezuma and the village of Oak Creek. Suddenlink said more than a third of its VOD library was available for free.
In another upgrade, Suddenlink customers that subscribe to the cable operator’s voice and video services now have access to a free Caller ID on TV feature.
The service enhancements were the latest elements in a $10 million capital investment program in Arizona and Southern California.
