SureWest Communications said it has signed up the 10,000th subscriber for its video, voice and data service bundle in the Sacramento, Calif., area. The company began the year with 5,600 subs.
SureWest noted that it’s adding about 200 subs per week. The service provider launched its “triple-play” offering in July 2002 following an acquisition of assets of Winfirst, a bankrupt fiber-to-the-home service provider.
In Sacramento, more than 80 percent of the company’s subs take at least two services, and about half take all three, said SureWest, which plans to offer digital TV service in nearby Roseville in late 2003 or early 2004.
