Investment company Nasdaq announced Friday that U.S. wireless carrier T-Mobile was one of seven companies that will be added to the NASDAQ-100 list for 2016.
The change, which will go into effect at the start of next week on Monday, Dec. 21, will also see Ctrip.com, Endo International, Expedia, Maxim Integrated Products, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Ulta Salon, Cosmetics and Fragrance, Inc. added to the index.
Those seven companies will replace C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Expeditors International of Washington, Keurig Green Mountain, Wynn Resorts, Garmin, Staples and troubled mobile operator Vimpelcom, which will be removed from the list.
According to Nasdaq, the NASDAQ-100 Index includes 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The list acts as a benchmark for financial products, such as options, futures and funds, the company said.
The NASDAQ-100 is re-ranked every year in December.
