Have you ever wondered just a tiny bit what it’s like to be shot from a cannon, like those dudes in the circus?
Well, now you can experience it for yourself, and the good news is, you don’t have to risk your life or join the circus.
The people over at Eclectical Engineering have solved this great big mystery for you, so you can cross being shot from a cannon off your bucket list.
The team built an air-powered cannon, and then 3D-printed a cannonball that holds a tiny GoPro inside so that it can record the projectile’s flight path after launch. Get your helmet on and be prepared to be fired away:
Ok, so the dizzying footage might not be an exact representation of what it’s like to be fired out of a cannon, but you get the idea. It’s a pretty cool little DIY project to add to your bucket list, while crossing off another item at the same time. Call it killing two birds with one cannonball.
If you want to build one for yourself, you can do it on a $150 budget, you’ll just need a 3D printer and a ton of PVC pipes (see the rest of materials and instructions here).
Fire away!
