Broadband test gear specialist Trilithic Inc. is expanding its horizons via a relationship with Corecess, a maker of Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GEPON) access equipment for fiber-to-the-home deployments.
The deal will enable Trilithic to sell Corecess’ portfolio to cable operators in North America and South America.
Corecess’ products include its flagship S5 Scalable Broadband Service Platform Optical Line Terminal, as well as its R1 series Optical Network Unit and 3800/3900 series ONTs.
Although the gear can support residential offerings, it’s expected that Trilithic will try to sell the equipment to cable operators in support of their business-class broadband services.
