Authenticated subscribers of Time Warner Cable and DirecTV can now catch all of the Los Angeles Lakers games on their iOS devices, home computers, and Android tablets and phones.
Time Warner Cable has made its TWC SportsNet and TWC Deportes video content available for Internet and mobile viewing. In addition to Lakers games, the regional sports nets also cover LA Galaxy, Los Angeles Sparks and California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) sports action.
Time Warner Cable and DirecTV subscribers in the networks’ home territory can watch Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes on the networks’ websites and on various tablet and mobile devices via the mobile apps “TWC SportsNet” and “TWC Deportes.” The apps are available in the iTunes store and on Google Play and feature 24/7 live network programming and full programming schedules.
“Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes are using the latest technology for on-the-go viewing because it is critically important to sports fans to be connected to their teams 24/7,” said Mark Shuken, senior vice president and general manager of TWC Sports Regional Networks. “Our mobile viewing experience helps Time Warner Cable and DirecTV subscribers be close to their teams wherever they go.”
This is the first season that Time Warner Cable has covered Lakers games, after taking them away from Fox Sports. Time Warner Cable bought the rights to Los Angeles Lakers games in 2011, paying an estimated $3 billion for 20 years, and launched regional sports networks covering them last year.
