Verizon has extended the reach of its NFL coverage with the addition of “Watch NFL Network” to its FiOS TV Online Web portal.
“Watch NFL Network” provides FiOS TV customers with live streaming access to NFL Network and RedZone programming, including “Thursday Night Football” games, “NFL Total Access,” “NFL GameDay,” the new morning show “NFL AM” and more. Live streaming of NFL RedZone, where viewers can watch every touchdown for every game on Sunday afternoon, is available every Sunday during the regular season.
With Watch NFL Network, Verizon customers that are signed up for NFL Network and NFL RedZone can now watch the programming online anywhere across the nation with a broadband connection by signing in with their FiOS TV credentials. Authenticated Verizon subscribers can also tether a laptop to a TV in order to view the NFL Network’s Thursday night games. Verizon said future applications would include more devices, such as tablets.
In addition to Verizon’s Web portal, Verizon subscribers can also access the NFL content on the NFL Network’s website.
“We are thrilled to give FiOS TV customers anytime, anywhere access to NFL Network and NFL RedZone as we continue to expand the FiOS offering and give our customers a truly borderless lifestyle,” said Terry Denson, vice president of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon. “Sports programming, especially football, has always been an important feature for so many of our FiOS TV customers. ‘Watch NFL Network’ will ensure they never have to miss their NFL programming again.”
NFL Network is included with the FiOS TV Extreme HD and Ultimate HD packages. NFL RedZone is included with the Ultimate HD package or as a standalone package.
While Verizon has expanded its TV Everywhere horizons with NFL Network, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Cablevision signed their first deals for NFL programming earlier this year.
