YouTube has added 34 metro areas to its cable-free live TV program, bringing it to 84 locations in total.

YouTube’s live TV includes dozens of channels and some local variants for $35/month, with Showtime and other premium channels available for an additional fee. Local channels on YouTube’s current offering include ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC affiliates via Sinclair Broadcast Group, which YouTube entered into an agreement with in August. YouTube TV made its last big push in September, when it added 12 markets.
The service includes the ability to watch three streams at one time within a household and maintain six separate accounts, each with its own recommendations and unlimited cloud DVR.
The service is priced competitively with DirecTV Now, which also costs $35 per month, and significantly above Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The addition of live local programming may be YouTube TV’s most significant advantage.
