The IEEE section in Long Island, N.Y. will host the first-ever power electronics symposium to be held in that area on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. Organizers say they plan on having at least four technical lectures and expect to host 25 to 50 exhibitors and over 200 attendees.
Organizers expect a good turn-out because the power electronics industry is strong on LI, as there are many companies with power converters as their primary product, as well as many companies that design/build power supplies as a part of their end product. There are also many LI companies involved with the test, manufacture and qualification of power supplies.
The same IEEE section held a Long Island Microwave Symposium in April of this year with 282 in attendance, where many attendees expressed interest in a similar event for the LI power electronics industry.
This event is free but attendees must register in advance. Registered attendees will receive admission to the exhibit floor, technical lectures, complimentary lunch, and the networking event with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. The first 200 registered attendees will also receive a complimentary swag bag with gifts from exhibitors.
The event will take place on Thursday, November 9, from noon to 8:00 PM, and attendees may arrive anytime and leave anytime. The venue is the Hauppauge Radisson located at 110 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, LI.
