SEGGER announces full support for Microchip’s new SAML11 devices within their complete lineup of embedded development solutions. Users can start developing with SAML11 out of the gate with SEGGER’s IDE Embedded Studio, RTOS embOS, J-Link debug probes, and SystemView runtime visual analysis tool, which are all utilized in the ready-to-go evaluation package, which is free for educational and non-commercial use without limitation.
The SAML10/L11 MCU family runs at 32 MHz with memory configuration of up to 64 KB Flash and 16 KB SRAM. They come in two variant options: SAML10 and SAML11 and boast ultra-low power consumption, enhanced Peripheral Touch Controller and advanced analog features. The SAML11 variant adds integrated hardware security. They come in 24 & 32 pin package options and target IoT & security, low power, capacitive touch and general purpose embedded control applications.
Included within the available embOS RTOS port for SAML11, is enablement for SystemView, a visual analysis tool. SystemView can record data from the embedded target system while it is running. The recorded data is analyzed and the system behavior is visualized in different views. It can ensure a system performs as designed, track down inefficiencies, and show unintended interactions and resource conflicts, with a focus on details with granularity down to every system tick.
The security features of the SAML11 are complimented by the availability of emCrypt, a complete security suite including all cryptographic algorithms required for device security, whether it is authentication, communication or any other aspect of security.
