Segger’s SystemView reveals the true runtime behavior of an application by utilizing its real-time recording and visualization capabilities. It uses J-Link and Segger’s Real-Time Transfer (RTT) technology for continuous real-time recording and live analysis.
The numerous benefits of SystemView can now be applied to any RISC-V embedded system via System Bus Access (SBA). Freely available from SEGGER, it runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS. There are no license fees or hidden costs to factor in.
SystemView can ensure a system performs as originally designed. Through this tool, engineers can track down inefficiencies, show unintended interactions and identify resource conflicts. It can save acquired traces to a file that can be used for future retrieval, documentation, and analysis.
All system information is sent by the application and is part of the recording. The information is shown in the window on the top right and includes the application name, the underlying OS, the target device and the timing information. Additional information about task switches and interrupt frequency provide a quick overview of the embedded system.
